BEAUTY REVIEW #2: Garnier Pure Active Multi-Action Toner

Since I got nothing to do, I might as well follow up my blog with my second reviews. The next stuff on the stash is my favorite toner that I've repurchased a few times.

Like I said in my previous post, I like Garnier products, especially the Pure Active range as it helped to shrink/eradicate/cure my teenage acne and pimples era :P This 150ml paraben-free toner, as its packaging said, is concentrated in Purifying Salicylic Acid and enriched with regenerating HerbaRepair (from blueberry extract) which helps to stimulates the regeneration of cells and helps to accelerate the resorption of marks.

Author's note: When I first read this packaging, I expected the toner to have that fruity blueberry smell.. if you know what I mean :P but noooooo~ they have to come with hideous medicinal smell.

This toner is claimed to fight 6 signs of acne day after day, imperfections are reduced, pores are tightened, skin is visibly even and smooth, redness and oiliness are minimised. I usually apply it after I wash my face by patting it using a cotton pad, I try avoid rubbing though as that method is harsher than patting and it is a common knowledge that patting ensures better absorption of the product.

I'd rate it:
4/5
Pros:
  • It has excellent properties in reducing acnes :) Thanks!!
  • It controls sebum, in other words, it mattifies.
  • It cleans the skin, I can see brown residues/dirt on the cotton pad after I pat the toner all over my skin. It's either dead skin cells or the left over BB cream that might have not thoroughly cleaned.
  • And I really like how it helps in preventing my skin from scaring after the occupation of harsh acne and pimples.
Cons:
  • My pores are not tightened though HAHA they are still visibly large.
  • And they cannot reduce my whiteheads and blackheads too... they're just still there, and it annoys the hell out of me LOL
  • The smell, oh mai God, the smell is sooooo not refreshing and I am really2 grateful though the smell doesn't last.
  • It sometimes stungs upon application.
  • Not alcohol-free.
Will I repurchase?
I've been repurchasing this for a few times, I loved the fact that it effectively eradicated my acne and guess this girl is not grateful, because she wants more than just eradicating acne, I also want something that can eradicates whiteheads, blackheads and reduce the visibility of my large pores... especially around the nose area and the area between my eyebrows. Sheesh...

I'm eyeing Avene Cleanance Powder-Lotion which is made for oily/combination/blemish-prone skin.

Orite, guys... that's all for now. I've got a few products that I'd like to review, will write them soon ^_^ toodles~
