BEAUTY REVIEW #13: Freeman Feeling Beautiful masks

I always make sure to pamper my skin with masks twice or three times a week, as my skin is more towards the oily/combination side and my pores are big, thus easily clogged. And I'm a sucker for clay masks.... and anything affordable that actually works :P My pick??? Of course, the masks from Freeman's Feeling Beautiful range ^^

These are the chosen one :P For Bruneians, the nearest you can get them from are the Watson and Guardian in Miri/Limbang/KK. There aren't any in Brunei. There were before at Guardian, looooonnnggg before, but for some reasons, they stopped restocking Freeman products.

So let's see what my take on them, shall we?? ^^

1) Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask

Nourish and purify with one amazing mask! Rich clay dive deep to purge dirt and oil from the pores. Nutrient-rich Vit E, Avocado and Oatmeal moisturize for lasting skin softness. Skin looks and feels squeaky clean and is soft to the touch. Perfect for normal to combination skin.

My verdict: Of all the three mask, I honestly love this one the most because I really feel the clay's trying to suck out all the dirt and oil (including SOME blackheads and whiteheads) from the pores WITHOUT over-drying my skin. And yes, afterwards, it DOES leave my skin soft and squeaky clean without those bumpy feeling of small, grainy clogged pores, except on my nose. Somehow, my nose needs exfoliating before using any masks.

2) Charcoal and Black Sugar Mud Mask

This velvety mud mask works like magic to moisturize, remineralize and make skin sensationally soft! Dead Sea Minerals have natural nourishing effect that boosts smoothness and overall skin health. Activated Charcoal locks onto and lifts away oils and toxins without over-drying skin. Black Sugar helps skin to hold on to hydration and smooth away roughness. Perfect for normal to combination skin.

My verdict: I love charcoal, since I tried the Adania's Charcoal soap bar, I've always been on a lookout for more worthy charcoal-contained products. This mask has its very popular counterpart, which is Charcoal and Black Sugar Face Polishing Mask. I didn't buy that, because it's more of a physical scrub than a mask and physical scrubs can be harsh on skin, so no no. This mask is more gentle. It has the same suction feeling as the avocado one, but milder. I'd say, between the three of them, this mask's suction force falls on number 3. It doesn't over-dry my skin and it does makes my skin feel soft just like the avocado one. The one thing I'm disappointed of is its ability in eradicating blackheads. It does eradicate most of them on my nose and chin, but it doesn't do much on my forehead (between my brows). Maybe the blackheads are just too stubborn :P

3) Sparkling Pear Pore-Cleansing Mask

Skin-Clearing clays are whipped to an ultra-light consistency, enhancing their ability to coax impurities out of skin all without the dramatic affect, tightening effects of traditional clay masks. Willow Bark Extract, a natural cause source of Salicylic Acid, exfoliates and clears pores to reveal smoother, fresher skin. Pear Extract has astringent benefits to help minimize pore visibility for a perfected surface, and refreshing Tea Tree removes impurities without over-drying the skin. Perfect for oily and combination skin.

My verdict: this is the newest mask in this collection. I love the term 'whipped', which means it is sort of light and easily spread across my skin, which is what this clay is and does. There's no tightening or over-drying effect, just like what it claims. It makes my skin feeling smooth, which further confirmed its effectiveness in clearing out my pores (except for the nose, if I don't do any exfoliating, it'd still feel rough). In the minimizing pore visibility, I don't see much which is a disappointment LOL. The suction force falls on number 2 out of 3 of them hehe

How I use them?
Sometimes I use them on their own, alternately, within the week. Sometimes I do multi-masking, like I would put the charcoal one on my  T-Zone area (plus chin) and the avocado one on the rest of my face. I let them to dry for around 10 to 15 minutes. It is advisable to wash them off just before they are completely dry and harden. I love using nose strips after that because the clogged pores on my nose can be pretty stubborn and any hanging blackheads/whiteheads/any gunk could be left behind.

Overall, I love these masks, although the results aren't the best. These masks are perfect for girls to have in slumber parties as it's affordable and the smells are great too... especially the pear one. Plus the packaging, despite its simplicity, is attractive, like you can't just not give a second glance. They are not the best, but they are also definitely not the worst.
