BEAUTY REVIEW #10: SariAyu Martha Tilaar Hijab Shampoo

Hi, guys, I'm up for another review now. Boy, it has been awhile since I updated this blog with beauty stuffs. And I haven't updated on my latest buys yet as I haven't gone to any beauty shopping lately LOL

So, here we go with my review:

A "little" description about the brand Martha Tilaar. It got me intrigued when they enter the traditional terms and ancient names such as Dewi Saraswati :) SariAyu is a branch of Martha Tilaar, the other one that I know (and kinda recently interested in :P don't get me started :P) is Dewi Sri Spa. They both are like Victoria's Secrets and Bath and Body Works under one company.

My verdict:

As claimed in the description, it takes care of hooded hair. It contains natural ingredients Eclipta Alba, Aloe Vera, Northopanax, Capsicum, Mint and other ingredients (so I guess, the chemistry names on the ingredients' list) which are useful:

- to cleanse and treat your hair
I don't understand this statement actually.. if it meant cleanse as in you're feeling fresh after every shower, Yes, my hair feels like it. And as for treatment for my hair... I don't feel anything.

- to keep it strong and black.
There are other factors which serve the hair strength. Diet intake? Genetics? And about that blackness, I dunno, my hair is black to begin with, dark black and I'm grateful.

- to reduce dandruff and itching caused by dandruff
Nooooo~ Oh god, no... it causes a recurrence of my dandruff. I don't feel secure anymore wearing black t-shirts at home (because I don't wear hijab at home) ... And it doesn't take long after wash for the dandruff to rise up.

- to maintain freshness hooded hair and
I don't think so. We all need that 2 to 3 times shampoo-ing per week. It did reduce oily built up on my hair though.. it is still there but not as much as before I use this shampoo.... but still regular washing is recommended.

- to keep your hair for going limp.
Yes, I agree on this... It somehow volumizes my hair better than Selsun.

Of course, by using the whole range which includes the conditioner, lotion and hair mist might intensify the trick. but sadly I don't want to risk my cash on it.

Pros:
- It lathers up pretty nicely....More than any other shampoos I've tried... I love when shampoos lather up.
- It has nice scent
- It has mint so you can feel that cooling sensation on your scalp as you're shampoo-ing.
- And leave your hair feeling fresh afterwash.
- It doesn't make your hair limpy like Selsun. Definitely tames my oily hair.
- The price is affordable.

Cons:
- Doesn't do most of what it claims, highlighting the recurrence of my dandruff.

Will I repurchase it again?
I might be re-purchasing Selsun again this time. But I'll be using it with this hijab shampoo as I got another bottle of it. And will see how it goes with selsun as I have a method to use non-medicated shampoo and medicated shampoo together ;)
